Cost & Asset Management

Introduction to Cost & Asset Management

Discover CAM essentials to kick-start your application experience. Learn CAM capabilities, functions, and insight into cost analysis and performance.

Cost & Asset Management (CAM) is a Governance Console tool that provides a comprehensive, data-driven view of service providers. This application enables you to visualize and analyze costs, gain insights into savings trends, and recommend the use of different providers' assets.

When using the Cost & Asset Management (CAM) application, you can set up specific roles for personas. Roles define the tasks and permissions that the person has while using CAM. Some roles have access to view, configure, download, and more features, but others don’t have the same permissions.

By visualizing, optimizing, and operating your costs and assets data, some key core capabilities of CAM are:

  • Analyze cost and asset performance and view forecasting cost data to determine the cost of running your business now and in the future. Understand what assets users consume, their costs, and any rightsizing opportunities based on utilization.
  • Visualize and analyze assets and costs with tools that help you make informed decisions about your business.
  • You should know to strategically align your costs for the future, view underutilized services and unnecessary spending, and make decisions accordingly.
  • View and manage Provider Tags across the multi-vendor hybrid cloud landscape.
  • Establish policies that flag when a defined efficiency threshold has not been met.
  • Continuously identify and notify leaders when there is an opportunity for cost savings.
